Someshwara Temple in Magadi

 It was yet another impromptu trip not a trip more of a long drive for approximately 60 Kms one way to a temple in Magadi. Temple name is Someshwara Temple. It is a Shiva temple. Very old one managed by  Archealogical department. It is open till 7 pm . It has a 500 year old Vilvam tree. It has a beautiful garden well maintained.

God is Someshwara and Goddess is  Brahmarambika. Beautiful small temple.

It was a beautiful drive from kengeri, roads were full of ups and downs(country side). Enroute we saw lot of groundnut farmers selling on the road, we stopped and picked some for binge biting.

It takes 90 minutes one way to reach the temple. Great place for religious minded folks. Temple number is available on the internet. Must place to visit.

We saw a fort like structure witha  humungous stone wall few kms before the temple. It was 7 pm so we couldn't check what's inside. Probably a place for next time.

Day - January 11th and January 12th 2020 It was a sudden trip from Bangalore, where me, my mother and another family firend decided to go to Tiruvannamalai for a temple visit and Girivalam. A Quick Whirlwind trip to Kanchipuram for a overnight stay and Temple visit on 20th and 21st of May 2024

This time it was only me and my mother, to visit temples in Kanchipuram and our plan was to pick my daughter the next day from her hostel on the way back to Bangalore. On my onward journey I had plans to visit some temples before checking in to the hotel in Kanchipuram. Being born and brough up in Chennai and with close proximity to Kanchipuram, it was ironic that in more than 4 decades I never had any opportunity to visit Kanchipuram temples which has significant heritage  and popularity. Sanjeevaraya temple - Ramanagara District(60 kms) from bangalore- Suitable for a evening drive aka Temple visit

2nd August 2020 It was a Sunday, where we all were craving for a long drive in our car in the midst of Covid restrictions. Covid pandemic spread, lockdown fever and protocol to travel with masks, sanitisers and home food were inevitable for the day. We as a family decided to do a impromptu visit to a Hanuman temple by name Sanjeevaraya temple in Ramanagara district, in Karnataka. It was situated at a shor distance of 60 kms from Konankunte cross, Kanakapura main road. Route- Kengeri, Ramanagara, Kengal Anjaneya temple Once you reach the Kengal Anjaneya temple which is on the Mysore highway after Ramanagara, you slow down since you have to take a right turn in 1 km. there is small arch which you might loose sight if you drive fast. You have to take the right , where you hit a railway level crossing within 100 meters. It is a village road(very narrow one) where you have to drive with care.
